Life Skills

The Hillsborough District Life Skills Program, coordinated by Minda Maggio,  provides various curriculum throughout grades K-12. Minda works with students, teachers, administrators and parents to implement prevention-based educational programs. From the time our children enter Kindergarten, these programs begin to prepare students to deal with issues including but not limited to stress, peer pressure, bullying, conflict resolution, and the dangers of alcohol, drug and tobacco abuse.  Through these topics,  the program stresses the theme of healthy lifestyle choices.
Students are encouraged to develop strong friendships, positive attitudes and healthy lifestyles. In addition, they develop the necessary skills for a healthy mind and body, along with the tools to acquire decision-making and problem solving skills.  Through the use of various activities such as role play, peer-to-peer leadership, multimedia interaction, and community-wide activities, the program educates the students and parents of the Hillsborough Community.
For anyone interested in becoming involved, we are always looking for parent volunteers to help conduct our programs. Click here for more information, or if you wish to become involved.
