School Lunch/Free and Reduced Lunch Program
2024-2025 School Year
School Lunch Program
Students may purchase a balanced lunch in all schools. The cost at Hillsborough High School is $3.50. The cost at Hillsborough Middle School and Auten Road Intermediate School is $3.50. Lunches in all elementary schools (Amsterdam, Hillsborough Elementary, Sunnymead, Triangle, Woodfern, and Woods Road) are $3.00. Milk may be purchased separately for $.85 at all schools. The high school, middle school, and eligible elementary schools offer a breakfast program for students for $2.25.
Free and Reduced Lunch Applications
The district uses an online Free and Reduced Lunch Application through the Forms menu/tab on the Genesis Parent Portal. For the 2024-2025 school year, families must either apply or decline an application.
Families can submit a new lunch application throughout the year if financial circumstances change. It is important that families who believe they qualify for free or reduced lunch complete the application. Based upon eligibility, families may qualify for other services and programs when the application is submitted and approved. For example, if you have a high school-age child who plans to attend college, free or reduced lunch status qualifies them for reduced or free fees for PSAT, SAT, and AP testing, along with fee waivers for college applications. The Working Class Families’ Anti-Hunger Act provides an additional state income eligibility level for families with an annual household income between 186 and 199 percent of the federal poverty level to receive meals free of cost. Even if you did not qualify in the past, you may qualify now. Please complete the application to see if your family is eligible.
